It’s just some little part of her powers. Sending her minions after you is also something she can do. This overpowering force has diverse ways of manifesting itself. Kciuk: We considered the witch to be - it’s not some big entity you can encounter. GamesBeat: You can see ghosts or witches here, right? You’ve fit those into the world. We want to make sure that it feels natural for this universe. It doesn’t feel like Blair Witch.” We need to be very careful with what we’re adding because we want to expand it, but we want to expand it in the right direction. If you were to add something that feels unnatural, it would break the immersion. We want to expand this universe, but we’re aware that we need to do it in a way that feels natural. GamesBeat: You didn’t have guns or knives or any kinds of weapons in the game, which is an interesting choice. But not being entirely sure what’s going on is an important part of the game. If you play the full game, obviously, you’ll understand much more. There were things that aren’t really explained. I’m sure you experienced that during the witch house. That’s one of the things that makes it scary, and it’s also something we want to use in our game. With the context that the movie provides, it’s impossible to understand what’s going on. What’s scary about it is you don’t understand it. Kciuk: You never knew what was going on, especially if you consider the ending. It wasn’t an active or intrusive kind of horror. GamesBeat: If I remember what was scary about it, it was very minimalist. What methods does your medium have to convey the same feelings? What are the themes? You need to find a way to use those themes in your game. What we believe you need to do is to think about what makes the source material great. ![]() So why use the same method the second time? In a game, working in the camera that way would actually create more distance. You’re playing in first-person and you control the characters. But in a game that’s not necessary because that distance is already pretty short. ![]() For example, Blair Witch the movie uses found footage, and that’s done to shorten the distance between the viewer and the characters in the movie. They use different methods of expressing the story. GamesBeat: How did you start thinking about what would be different in the game as compared to the film?īarbara Kciuk: We believe that you can’t simply take the source material and adapt it to different media.

We have seen that Lux refers to the intensity of light per square meter we use this parameter to calculate the lumens needed for the various rooms in the home. Now that we have defined the units of measurement needed in the evaluation of a perfectly illuminated space, let’s move on to dealing with how many lumens each room needs based on its structure.īraille Energy needs for every environment If the space involved requires 450 lumens, the watt ratio between the various types of light bulbs will be:įinally, for spaces that require 1600 lumens: Let's look at some ratios between lumens and watts, referring to the most common measurements of environments and their corresponding lumens. Therefore, the correspondence between lumens and watts depends on the type of bulb you use: incandescent, LED, halogen or fluorescent. The ratio between lumens and watts refer to, respectively, the efficiency and effectiveness of a light bulb. Gangster What is the relationship between lumens and watts? The best type of lighting for every room. How do you calculate how many lumens are needed to light a room?.Different types of lamps for different types of emissions. What is the relationship between lumens and watts?.Watt, on the other hand, is the indicator of power in the International System, known in everyday use for its use in the field of electricity. Therefore, being aware of the ideal light intensity and surface size for each room you intend to illuminate, you can determine how many lumens each room needs and, consequently, find the most suitable light bulb or light installation. That is, lumen depends on the surface that will be illuminated and the intensity of the light called lux. If one candela of luminous intensity is emitted evenly across a solid angle of one steradian, the total luminous flux emitted into that angle is one lumen. The lumen refers to the emission of luminous flux, which corresponds to the measure of the entire quantity of visible light released by a source per unit of time. Calculating the lumens and watts needed to illuminate a room is an essential element to ensure that the lighting is adequate for the setting and is neither too dim nor too intense.īefore delving into this topic technically, let's spend a few minutes defining these two types of units. ![]() I took guitar lesson in Calgary Alberta 1970 at ABC MUSIC. ![]() In response to Jeff Burgess – June 22,2014. For that price I would have preferred to get a case with it or to have a “complete” guitar (it’s missing the whammy bar). The 335 copy I’m picking up today cost me $200cnd….a fair deal but not a great deal. However it does not increase their value. ![]() Example: Lyle brand of guitars are considered very rare. Certain sellers on certain websites seem to use this term as a way to justify the values of items being sold. Other Asian/Japanese companies, on their own, discontinued using the design. No one was sued, no companies were shut down or bought out over this…. Basically, Nordin (Gibson’s parent company at the time), called Ibanez to task on using the open book headstock design. I’m picking up a 70’s (?) Lyle 335 copy today….can’t wait!!! It’s almost mint but missing the “whammy bar”.įYI: I get tired of people perpetuating the term “lawsuit era” It has to be the most abused term in the sale of vintage guitars. New pots, switches, bridge, etc and a few days locked in a room. Then I had a custom pickguard made at WD Products in Florida. Next I selected some wild vintage EKO screamer pickups that were extracted from a deceased EKO 700 4V. It started with as Silvertone shell, just the body and neck. I wanted to put together a guitar that had the Mosrite look but was built for repeated abuse as a stage guitar. This allows for a wide variety of tone setups because you can dial in as much or as little of each pickup you want.Ĭool.Somewhere along the way I decided to build my own Custom Mosrite Copy. This guitar is pretty cool because a) it has a wicked flame fiish and b) it has an individual slider volume for each pickup. Next to that are a pair of Univox Hi-Flyers and a Silvertone Slider. On the left, a nearly perfect 1972 Mosrite Ventures Model. Here are some of the 1970’s acquisitions. Scattered across the 1960’s through the 2002’s guitar pages you will find almost two dozen different attempts. Vintage 1970’s Yamaha Burns Copy Electric GuitarĪ few years back I wrote up a piece about my pursuit for the perfect Mosrite copy. These were all imported from Japan under different brand names. Here is a typical selection of 1970’s Fender and Gibson copies. To avoid the same problem happening again, Gibson bought Epiphone and started building some very nice Imported Copy Guitars! Fender opened facilities outside North America under different brand names like Squier. This allowed some elbowroom for Gibson and Fender to rethink and retool their operations to fortify their position in the market. Late in the seventies, Gibson Guitars won a legal battle for patent infringements, which over time, shut down all but a few “copy” guitar manufacturers worldwide. That is why we hear so much about the “Lawsuit ERA” guitars. Towards the end of the 1970’s, Fender and Gibson were loosing market share. ![]() The lawyers at Gibson started to get restless, and young guitar players like myself were also getting restless… I could not wait to go out and buy a UNIVOX Les Paul for 1/5th the price of the real thing! Damn, it was so inexpensive that I could almost afford to smash it on stage! Cool! But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Not only was the manufacturing quality improving, but the quality of the REPLICATION was reaching new highs. Univox, Kawai, Silvertone and Domino were starting to deliver guitars that – from a price / quality point of view – were beginning to eat into the markets that Fender and Gibson dominated. 1) Companies outside North America vastly improved the quality of their guitar manufacturing and 2) Companies inside North America – namely Fender and Gibson – took their eye off the ball and did exactly the opposite.īy this time, many guitar manufacturers from the Far East had 10+ years experience under their belts, and the improvement in quality began to shine through. Two major issues defined the progress of electric guitars for most of the seventies. Led Zeppelin helped to popularise the Les Paul in the 70’s, when many great copies were made Only on repeat runs do you collect any significant amount of darkness, but in that case, those should be easy runs where it does not matter. Especially in Styx, where you go through several rooms very quickly, and no Darkness can be obtained. Fiery Presence should be +20% per rank, so that it reaches +100% damage against undamaged enemies.Ĭhthonic Vitality crushes Dark Regeneration. Shadow Presence utterly destroys Fiery Presence. Some balancing is definitely in order, because my mirror is almost entirely Red. Especially if (again) you're going Family Favorite/Dark Foresight/God's Legacy. But rerolling gemstones invariably gives you either a key or darkness, and if you roll past all those it just gives you nectar. I prefer Dark Foresight + God's Legacy because it makes it easy to go wide and get lots of Duo Boons, even though the individual boons tend to be a bit weaker that said, I find Euridyce, the one Demeter boon, and the Dio/Poseidon boon (everything is epic or higher) tend to show up often enough to make it a straight upgrade.Īnd I would prefer Fated Authority (reroll room) if it actually had a chance of giving a more rare option, just so I could have a chance at a boon/pom/heart instead of (say) gemstones. I pretty reliably have 6 boons by the end, which is 30% bonus at all times, and I'd prefer that over 40% if I keep the status effects active. Privileged Status vs Family Favorite is the only one I'm really iffy about, but I tend to go Family Favorite because 1) I'm not forced to get at least 2 status effects and 2) I'm not constantly worrying about keeping the status effects active in case I need to go in for a quick hit. Golden Touch is strictly better especially if you manage to take down Charon in Tartarus. Stygian Soul is just better unless you're doing a burst build, you rarely want more than 1 cast in an enemy at a given time. ![]() Ruthless Reflex is just better and I rarely need extra dashes unless I'm running out into Asphodel magma, and that is the edge case of edge cases because I usually go Stygian Soul too. Even then, Patroclus' Stubborn Defiance item frequently seems to last to Hades if you go straight to him. I like Stubborn Defiance too sometimes, but mostly because dying twice before Elysium feels reeeeally bad and I hate just having to pray I run into Patroclus. I've never used Fiery Presence or High Confidence with any success, but pretty much every other selection is green for me unless I'm doing a burst build or going for something weird.ĭark Regen is strictly better in 99% of cases, especially once you get the renovation that increases max health when you collect darkness. Fated authority isn't that useful to begin with, but with other 2 you're trading literal damage increases from purple for what? Hammers that are guaranteed to happen? Poms that have extreme diminishing returns? Legendary or duo boons are good for story/prophesies, but otherwise - just less reliable version of purple alternative. Green health upgrade may be useful if you have some really mad dodge skills. If one dies that much to need it, he'll get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by Hades with only 1 revive.Ībyssal blood - maybe? But boiling blood is really hard to discard. Green death defiance is a literal downgrade both in health and boss usability. Even then - questionable usefulness against purple regen. Maybe if you're shopping for blood and diamonds up there?īackstab will always grant you more damage than alternative as long as you hit it 2 times.ĭarkness regeneration is virtually useless unless you're on repeat run getting the darkness from bosses. A healthy Foles has been able to play “point guard” and get the ball out quick to his play-makers. That’s a lot of money for a team that’s currently projected to have the fewest cap space in the league this offseason.Īs for what Foles does differently, well, it helps that he’s not dealing with a back fracture in addition to coming off major ACL/LCL injury like Wentz. The Eagles could then franchise tag him, I suppose, but that would require committing a $25 million cap hit. They can pick up his option but he can pay back his $2 million signing bonus to become a free agent. Keeping Foles around in 2019 isn’t necessarily up to them. The Eagles have been very vocal that Wentz is their future and I expect that to remain the case moving forward. If he does that, it would have meant: beating the Bears in Chicago, beating the Saints in New Orleans, beating one of the Rams/ Seahawks/Cowboys on the road in the NFC Championship Game, and then the AFC winner in the Super Bowl. I have to assume Wentz is still the future but at what point are Eagles fans questioning whether or not Foles should be the guy moving forward? What does he do differently that has lifted this squad up?īGN: I think he’d have to win Super Bowl MVP for the second year in a row. Nick Foles has recaptured some of that magic from the 2018 postseason run. Carson Wentz struggled a bit coming back from the late season ACL tear before sitting with a back issue. The Eagles’ ability to dominate in the trenches gives them a chance to win every week. Those two units have been playing their best football down the stretch. A big reason why the Eagles won the Super Bowl last year is because they had the best offensive line in the league and their defensive line generated more pressure than any other group. The Eagles didn’t fold when they easily could’ve packed things in.Īlong with good coaching, the improved play in the trenches has really helped. ![]() ![]() I think Doug Pederson deserves a lot of credit for rallying a 4-6 team that was down 19 to 3 to the Giants at home after getting blown out 48 to 7 in New Orleans the week prior.
